National Poetry Month at the Ottawa Public Library

Wednesday, April 8, 2020

OTTAWA – It’s National Poetry Month and Ottawa Public Library is inviting you to dive into the fascinating world of poetry. Throughout the month of April, we will be offering a variety of activities and resources to help the Ottawa community awaken their inner poet while staying at home. Of note, we have put together a list of more than 500 titles that you can read or listen to online, including eBooks, video performances, and downloadable audiobooks.

Also, to keep people active, we are having a weekly challenge, inviting everyone to write a poem using a different poetic form every week. We are starting this week with (Book) Spine Poetry, and towards the end of the month, we plan to organize an online poetry slam event. These activities are open to everyone, no matter their age or experience level with poetry. Who knows? Maybe OPL will help uncover a hidden talent!
