OTTAWA- Ottawa Public Library (OPL) is pleased to announce that renovations for the Metcalfe village branch located at the Town Hall are now complete and the branch will reopen at its new location on Thursday, October 13 at 10 am.
The new location for Metcalfe village branch is 8243 Victoria Street, the Town Hall just down the road from the old location.
The facility located at 2782 8th Line has several major structural issues that make it unusable, and that location will close permanently on Monday October 3.
During the move to the new location, Metcalfe village customers can access library services at any other OPL branch. The nearest branches are:
Opening hours at the new Metcalfe village branch (8243 Victoria Street) will be as follows:

Monday: 5 pm to 8 pm

Tuesday: 10 am to 1 pm

Wednesday: 1 pm to 8 pm

Thursday: 10 am to 1 pm & 5 pm to 8 pm

Friday: CLOSED

Saturday: 10 am to 2 pm

This new location is conveniently located in the building where City of Ottawa services are also available.
The branch will consolidate services in one convenient location for OPL customers and all residents who wish to take advantage of the varied Library services, collections, learning and cultural resources at the Metcalfe village branch.
Expiry dates for holds items and due dates on all checked out Library items have been extended until November 1, to give customers ample time to return their library materials.
