Alison Crawford

Alison believes public libraries are crucial points of connection in every healthy community by offering equal access to knowledge, culture, and community supports. She is a former award-winning journalist, director of communications and strategic advisor. These days, she runs Good Yarn Communications and volunteers on the advisory board of her community newspaper. When travelling in Canada or abroad, Alison finds time to visit a library. Outside her home branches of Vanier and St Laurent, Alison's favourite libraries are in Charlottetown, Los Angeles and Oslo. For Alison, literacy extends beyond learning how to read, to civic, financial, legal, and media literacy.
