La Bibliothèque des Amériques (BA) is a unique library. It was created by le Centre de la francophonie des Amériques (CFA) and sponsored by Dany Lafferière. It gives free access to thousands of French books by Franco American authors (authors from Quebec, Ontario, Haiti, French West Indies, Louisiana and New England) in ePub or PDF format. It includes fiction and historical books, biographies, well being and personal growth books, essays, cookbooks, travel accounts, poetry books, children fiction, educational books, university publications, etc. La Bibliothèque des Amériques also includes a selection of audio books, the library has a partnership with Radio-Canada, who produces audio books.
To access it, you need to become a member of the Centre de la francophonie des Amériques, it’s free! Then visit the BA website and browse their collection. You can borrow no more than four books at a time, the loan is for three weeks, if the book is borrowed you can reserve it and there is no annual borrowing limit.
