Start your March Break on the right note and learn to express yourself in the universal language of music! Ottawa Public Library is partnering with CBC Music to invite young teens and tweens to music-making workshops this Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12. There are three workshops each day, Saturday at OPL’s Greenboro branch and again Sunday at OPL’s Beaverbrook branch.
In a 60-minute workshop with CBC Music’s Jam Squad, Ottawa tweens aged 8 to 13 will learn how to create music using the music editing software, GarageBand. Tablets will be provided. Tween participants need only their creativity and a parent or guardian to jam with CBC Music Jam Squad experts. The workshop will show kids as well as parents how easy and fun it is to create their own music and beats on tablets.

This program is provided by CBC Music, as its newest project in support of musical literacy. CBC Music’s Jam Squad has also been offered in other libraries in Ontario and the program has been a resounding hit with kids and their families.
