Call me crazy or a 'technophobe' but I have always enjoyed going into a library and searching the shelves, reading the back cover and author bios for my next read rather than moving to the digital collection of e-books and audiobooks.

In the ever changing present, there comes a time when the stacks of books at home slowly dwindles until you have nothing left to read. So my friends, let's take the plunge together and deep dive into the world of how to get an e-book/audiobook from the library on an android phone. First and foremost, we have an amazing digital collection of e-books and audiobooks available at our fingertips here at the Ottawa Public Library. Staff members are creating such wonderful lists and suggestions of what we can be reading using what is available on our digital collection.

Let's get started on figuring out how to borrow this material! The first main piece of information you need to know is that you can't borrow an e-book/audiobook right from our library catalogue without previously having an application on your device that is able to read said material. This tutorial video is going to cover one application 'Libby' that you can download on your android phone (that's the device I am practicing on) to borrow material from OPL. The video gives a  step-by-step visual of how to download and borrow your first book!
