May the fourth is Star Wars day!

May 01, 2020

May 4th is coming up, and it’s Start Wars day! Because of its similarity to the Jedi saying “May the Force be with you,” May the fourth has been adopted around the world as a day to celebrate all things Star Wars.

Here is a bit of free digital content that you can enjoy to take part in the celebrations from the comfort of your home!

To start you off, why not read some books? OPL has an extensive collection of digital Star Wars books of all kinds for you to enjoy. From classic fan-favorite novels like Timothy Zahn’s Heir to the Empire, to acclaimed new favorites like Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath, without forgetting spinoffs from the newest movies like The Last Jedi: Cobalt Squadron, hilarious or whimsical retellings of the classic films like William Shakespeare’s Star Wars or The Princess, The Scoundrel and the Farm Boy, and graphic novels like the Original Trilogy Graphic Novel, there’s something for every taste!

To immerse yourself in the universe, you could also try listening to some music. We have streaming and downloadable soundtracks from the original trilogy, the Clone Wars cartoon, an a capella verion, or even other sci-fi classics.

You can also watch some related videos! Although the Star War films are not available to stream through our collection, we do have amazing documentaries for you to find out more about the Star Wars universe, such as a documentary about the rivalry between Star Trek and Star Wars fansPlastic Galaxy: The Story of Star Wars Toys, and The Mythology of Star Wars With George Lucas and Bill Moyers.

Until then, May the Force be with you... always.
