We have a variety of programs planned to keep you entertained all summer long! You will have the opportunity to dance, draw, build, play, meet reptiles, parrots, and mythical creatures and much, much more. Programs will take place in branch, with some special virtual programming to kick-off and close the summer and a weekly virtual storytime for preschoolers. You will be able to register for our programs starting June 13 at 10:00 am. To kick off the summer, we'll be hosting some amazing virtual programming. On June 4th, join us for a jigging workshop with Métis artist Brad Lafortune and a painting workshop with Kathryn Cobbler on July 6th. Check out our full calendar of events for all of our exciting programs. Also, check out our videos on demand from last year on our YouTube channel for more summer fun!
Starting June 13, you will be able to create your virtual TD Summer Reading Club notebook, on the TD Summer Reading Club website. You will also find jokes, a battle of the books, stories, workshops with authors and illustrators, digital books and more online. Also starting June 13th, you will be able to pick up a colourful Summer Reading Club notebook at your local branch. You can use the notebook to record the books you read this summer, doodle, or maybe both!
In addition, we are pleased to host StoryWalks® again this summer. You may see one in your neighborhood. It's a fun activity that involves placing a book page by page on laminated bulletin boards along a path. You can read a book while walking outside with your family! This summer, the books we will be featuring are I Am Scary, by Elise Gravel, and Sometimes I Feel Like a Fox, by Danielle Daniel.
